What Dead God Requires

Dead God in Repentance means achieving the "True Ending" achievement by completing every requirement in the game. This includes all hard mode completion marks on 17 normal characters and 17 Tainted characters, collecting every item in the item pool, finding every secret, beating every challenge, and defeating every boss at least once. Normal mode marks do not count toward Dead God — only hard mode marks on the character sheet matter. Greedier mode marks are required separately from normal run marks.

How to Use the Completion Tracker

Mark items as you unlock them during normal gameplay. The tracker calculates your overall completion percentage and highlights the closest milestones. Filter by character to see which marks remain for a specific character — essential when grinding Tainted Lost hard mode marks or Greedier completions. The missing items list cross-references unlock sources so you know whether to do a specific challenge, boss kill, or secret condition.

Completion Mark Details

Each character has a grid of completion marks representing boss defeats on hard mode. Marks include: Mom (blue), Heart (red), Boss Rush (silver), Satan (black), Isaac (yellow), Blue Baby (gray), Lamb (dark red), Mega Satan (gold), Hush (light blue), Delirium (purple), Mother (green), Beast (orange), Greed Mode (coin), and Greedier Mode (diamond). Tainted characters have a reduced mark set — no Mom's Heart hard mark, no Tainted character unlock mark, and combined marks for Satan/Isaac/Lamb/??? and Boss Rush/Hush.

Tips for Efficient Completion

Dead God typically takes 500–1500 hours depending on skill and unlock order. Use the tracker to batch similar tasks — do all Greedier marks in one session, all Hush marks in another. Strong characters (Azazel, Tainted Azazel, Tainted Isaac) should handle difficult marks first. Save Tainted Lost, Tainted Jacob, and The Lost marks for when your item knowledge is deep. The tracker's missing secrets list prevents wasted runs hunting secrets you already have.

Sync your tracker progress with in-game collection pages for verification. The game's own statistics screen shows item counts and mark grids, but lacks the cross-category overview the tracker provides. Repentance+ added new items and potentially new secrets that count toward completion. Update your tracker when new patches release to ensure 100% reflects current content. Co-op can assist with difficult marks but only the host character receives credit — the tracker should reflect host-only progression for accuracy. Online daily run wins have their own rare achievement separate from Dead God but worth tracking for true completionists.
