The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth — How to Find Secret Rooms

Secret rooms are hidden spaces accessed by bombing specific walls — containing shopkeepers, pickups, and occasionally powerful items. Super Secret rooms appear on map dead ends bordering only one room. Ultra Secret rooms added in Repentance require Red Key, Cracked Key, or Soul of Cain to create red room pathways. Mastering secret room logic saves bombs and reveals run-winning items.

Regular Secret Room Rules

• Secret rooms border 3–4 adjacent rooms (rarely 1–2)
• The entrance wall must have a clear walkable path — no pits, rocks, or spikes blocking the bomb spot
• Bomb the center of the wall between adjacent rooms
• Secret rooms never border boss rooms, other secret rooms, or super secret rooms
• Entrances stay open after bombing (unlike the original Flash game)

Super Secret Room Rules

Super Secret rooms border exactly one room and sit on map dead ends like other special rooms. They often appear near the boss room or shop. Because only one wall connects, you have fewer bombing locations to test — prioritize dead-end rooms adjacent to only one explored space.

Ultra Secret Rooms (Repentance)

Ultra Secret rooms contain angel pool items and require red room creation via Red Key or Cracked Key. Valid positions border at least three non-red rooms through red room neighbors.
