The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth — How to Beat The Beast

The Beast is Repentance's true final boss, fought after defeating Dogma on the Home floor. The encounter spans multiple phases including four Ultra Harbingers and a vertical chase sequence that tests movement speed, range, and sustained DPS. Beating The Beast triggers the true ending cutscene and unlocks critical completion marks.

Reaching The Beast

Complete the Ascent through Depths II's Strange Door, grab Dad's Note, climb back through reversed floors to Home, and defeat Dogma by interacting with the television. Dogma's defeat transitions directly into The Beast fight with no room to prepare. Enter with full health, charged actives, and your strongest build — there is no shop or treasure room between Dogma and The Beast.

Ultra Harbingers Phase

Four Ultra Harbingers — Famine, Pestilence, War, and Death — attack simultaneously with amplified versions of their normal patterns. Focus one Harbinger at a time while dodging the others' area attacks. High mobility and piercing damage excel here. Familiars and orbitals provide passive damage while you dodge.

The Chase Sequence

After Harbingers fall, The Beast appears in a vertical scrolling arena. Isaac must dodge falling fire, homing projectiles, and beam attacks while dealing damage during brief vulnerability windows. Flight is extremely valuable. Speed upgrades help reposition during the chase. Save powerful activated items for the final stretch when The Beast's attacks intensify.
